Shillong, April 25: Meghalaya is all set to get a major boost in terms of having proper cancer treatment facility as the much-awaited Regional Cancer Centre at NEIGRIHMS is almost complete.

NEIGRIHMS Director Dr Nalin Mehta today said that the project would be inaugurated soon and only some minor works were going on. The six-floor Regional Cancer Centre will have around 250 beds and the centre will have the most modern equipment and machines. The Centre will be a great boon for cancer patients as the state till date lacks good treatment centres for cancer treatment forcing many people to go outside for treatment.

As a part of the project, a medical College, nursing college and a guest house is also being constructed
