SHILLONG, April 25: South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai on Tuesday convened a meeting with officials from various departments and reviewed the implementation of projects in his constituency, including Smart City project and AMRUT additional water supply scheme.
According to a statement here, the meeting was attended by officials of the Information Technology and Communication department, Police department, Public Works Department, PHE department, Municipal Board, Dorbar Shnongs of various localities in the constituency, Secretary of Shillong Cantonment Development Committee, et al.
During the meeting, installation of VMD, CCTV, implementation of additional water supply scheme of PHE and Municipal Board, repair of potholes, among others, were discussed in length.
Superintendent of Police (City) Vivek Syiem, during the meeting, informed that the installation of CCTV has been designated at strategic locations in order to ensure that the Police department, following the commission of a crime, can refer to footage for identification process.
The IT department, on the other hand, informed that the installation of VMD will help the general public as all government information will be displayed at the VMD.
The MLA, meanwhile, requested the Dorbar Shnong to help the Police department in ensuring that CCTV cameras are installed at maximum locations.
He also asked the Dorbar Shnong to take care of the CCTV cameras, once installed.
Meanwhile, during the meeting with PHE and Municipal Board over the implementation of ongoing AMRUT additional water supply scheme, Sanbor gave a six-month deadline for implementation of the scheme in his constituency.
The MLA also asked the PWD department to immediately repair all the potholes and review all the roads in the constituency that require immediate renovation and repair.
The MLA, along with the Police department, PWD, PHE department and Municipal Board, has resolved to conduct a joint inspection to review the implementation of Smart City project and review the implementation of AMRUT additional water supply scheme.
