12 individuals receive awards on eve of Eid

GUWAHATI, April 26: Amrit Cement, one of the leading cement manufacturers of Northeast, recently conferred the Peace Awards 2023 upon 12 deserving individuals from different walks of life during a programme at Haji Musafirkhana in Guwahati.
According to a statement here, the recipients of the Peace Awards 2023, which were given away on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, are Tapan Kumar Sharma, M Kamaluddin Ahmed, Noor Mohammed, Akthar Hussain, Satyen Sharma, Taijuddin Ahmed, Anisuz Zaman, Dr Upen Rabha Hakacham, Nurul Haque, Paresh Baruah and the Haji Musafir Khana Trust Board.
Following the award ceremony, an Iftar party was organised inside the Haji Musafirkhana premises during which food was served to several hundred people from different communities and backgrounds.
The award ceremony was attended by former senior journalist and Member of Rajya Sabha, Ajit Kumar Bhuyan; senior advocate Nekibur Zaman; senior manager – technical services, Amrit Cement, Sailendra Dutta; Editor, TIME8, Anupam Chakraborty, among others.
Meanwhile,
Commenting on the initiative, Pradeep Bagla, Managing Director, Amrit Cement, said “The month of Ramadan is a special month because it embraces solidarity, meditation and self-examination. Ramadan is also a celebration, bringing together Muslims and people of other faiths who are committed to fostering peace, stability, and prosperity. This prestigious award ceremony is a celebration of that spirit of Ramadan.”
