SHILLONG, April 26: The Art and Culture Department has decided to change the nomenclature of the Shillong International Centre for Performing Arts and Culture (SICPAC).
The decision was taken during a review meeting chaired by Art and Culture Minister Paul Lyngdoh on Tuesday which was attended by Chief Secretary Donald P. Wahlang, senior officials of the department and representatives from the Meghalaya Government Construction Corporation Limited (MGCC).
The new name will be decided at a later stage.
“We have also decided that all ongoing works will be completed by June 15,” Lyngdoh said in statement on Wednesday.
He further said that MePDCL has been directed to immediately install the generator since the payment has already been made.
Lyngdoh said the expression of interest for management of the centre will be floated and all security concerns at the project site will be duly addressed.
He further informed that the department will sign an annual maintenance contract with the technical agency that installed the light & sound at the centre.
