Shillong, April 30: Sooraj Pancholi has now opened up about his relationship with the late actress Jiah Khan, days after he was declared innocent in her suicide case.

In a recent interview, Sooraj acknowledged dating Jiah for five months and stated that she required affection from her family as well as from a partner.

“I just had a five-month relation with Jiah, so I had no idea how much she was going through. She required love from her family as well as her partner” he told during an interview.

Jiah was the only earner in the household, according to Sooraj, who further claimed that she “had a lot of pressure to support her family.” Further, he claimed that despite “there not being much awareness about mental health back then,” he had told Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan about her depression.

In addition, Sooraj made some stunning accusations, saying, “Jiah tried to slit her hand in 2012 when I first met her and we weren’t in a relationship. She wanted to end her life. When I called Rabiaji in London, she promised to be in Mumbai on the following flight, but she didn’t arrive for several weeks. Was this a typical parent-child dynamic? Sooraj continued by claiming that Jiah required “familial love.”

Rabia Khan, Jiah Khan’s mother, discovered her hanging in her residence in June 2013.
