Shillong, May 2: One of the accused in the murder of well-known Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, gangster Goldy Brar has been added to Canada’s list of the top 25 most wanted fugitives.
According to a formal announcement, Goldy Brar is allegedly in Canada and poses a threat to the public’s safety. He is also accused of having perpetrated “very serious in nature” crimes in India.
“Interpol-Ottawa’s Fugitive Apprehension Support Team (FAST) has added fugitive Satinderjit Singh ‘Goldy’ Brar as the latest addition to the Top 25 list. He is the subject of a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) investigation into the allegations originating from India,” a statement said.
On May 29 last year in Punjab’s Mansa district, Sidhu Moose Wala was fatally shot while driving his SUV close to his home hamlet of Moosa.
Goldy Brar acknowledged in a Facebook post published the day after Moose Wala’s murder that the murder was intended to exact revenge for the assassination of another gangster.
Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is the main suspect in the killing of the Punjabi artist, had a close relationship with Goldy Brar.
