SHILLONG, May 1: To celebrate the Foundation Day of the state of Maharashtra and Gujarat, a cultural evening was held at Raj Bhavan on Monday. The programme was organised by Indian Council for Cultural Relations Shillong in collaboration with Raj Bhavan, in the presence of Governor Phagu Chauhan.
The cultural evening featured poem recitation by renowned poets of the country including Padma Shri Sunil Jogi, Silbi Passah, Md Khalid Khan and MP Pandey. Videos on the Maharashtra and Gujarat Foundation day were also screened.
Senior government officials and personnel of the armed forces from the state of Maharashtra and Gujarat attended the programme.
