Seizure
On Monday evening, one Vishal Kupar Marngar (30) of Nongstoin Mawkawah, West Khasi Hills, presently residing at Garo Bazar, Polo, Shillong, was intercepted by the patrolling party of Pasteur BH on the suspicion of peddling drugs. According to a statement here, a search was subsequently conducted during which 17 vials containing heroin and Rs 480 in cash was recovered from Marngar’s possession. An ANTF team was then rushed to Pasteur BH to conduct legal formalities as per provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. A case in this regard has also been registered.

Missing
One Kopal Swer (52) has gone missing from Dympep village since February 20. According to a statement here, the missing person is five-foot tall, has a dark complexion, thin built, oval face, black and grey hair, pointed nose, and is soft-spoken. In this regard, anyone aware of his whereabouts has been asked to contact 03642222214 or 7085956876.

Workshop
A workshop on ‘Autism Spectrum Disorder’ was conducted by Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) on Monday during which, Assistant Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore, Dr. Suhas Chandran, who was the resource person, spoke on how accessibility to reliable information could increase the likelihood of early childhood screening, diagnosis, timely support and intervention. “The awareness created through the workshop helped to clear stereotypes and misunderstandings, and served as a form of emotional support for parents and caregivers,” a statement in this regard said.
