SHILLONG, May 5: Trinamool Congress vice president George B. Lyngdoh on Friday observed that the PDF’s merger with the NPP — does not augur well for regional parties in the state.
He claimed that the regional parties in the state will soon be “eaten up” by NPP.
Lyngdoh expressed surprise that the regional parties, which often speak about unification, so easily give up on their ideologies and merge with national parties.
Lyngdoh also slammed State Congress president Vincent H. Pala for his recent statement that MLAs who shifted from Congress to other parties have lost the elections.
He reminded that Pala had himself lost from Sutnga-Saipung in the recent Assembly polls.
