Shillong, May 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is once more undertaking a smaller roadshow on a different route in Bengaluru today, a day after a major three-hour roadshow.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had previously stated that a massive eight-hour roadshow was planned; however, they opted to divide it into two halves instead—26 km on Saturday and 10 km on Sunday—keeping in mind the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and attempting to minimise disturbance to the general people.
The BJP’s Assembly election campaign is in its final three days, and the party is going all-in to use the PM for a last-ditch effort to keep power in what is anticipated to be a very closely contested election.
Starting from the Kempegowda statue on New Tippasandra Road at 10 am, the PM headed towards the HAL 2nd stage on Old Madras Road. By 11.30 am, the roadshow will end at Trinity Circle.
The roadshow, which was launched by PM Modi presenting flower tributes to the statue of Kempegowda, the city’s founder, will travel across five Assembly segments in central Bengaluru.
The prime minister declared yesterday that he will treasure the love given by the city’s residents for the rest of his life after his tour in the southern section of the city.
