Shillong, May 8: A second blast was reported on the same location on Monday morning, hours after a person was hurt in an explosion at Heritage Street close to the Golden Temple in Punjab’s Amritsar.
On the route to the Golden Temple, the explosion happened near Heritage Street at Saragarhi Sarai.
It happened around 6.30 in the morning. In addition to the police commissioner, forensic teams arrived at the scene and are gathering samples for analysis. There have been no reported injuries or damages.
Police have not yet made an official statement regarding the explosion. Locals in the neighbourhood heard the blast and they also noticed smoke in the area.
The explosion occurred as an unidentified person hung the explosive substance, or bomb, at the parking lot on Heritage Street.
On Saturday night, there was a panic among the residents of Heritage Street near the Golden Temple, which resulted in one person getting hurt. Within a one-kilometer radius of the Golden Temple, there was a blast that was audible, and several buildings’ glasses sustained damage.
