EJHD DC warns of action against bid to interrupt with power transmission

Khliehriat, May 10:  The Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hill District (EJHD) has warned of legal action against any person found interrupting the power transmission lines in the district.

A notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s office states,” It has come to the notice to the DC office EJHD, recently that the 400 KV Silchar Byrnihat Power Transmission line has got tripped and interrupted for notable period of time due to mass vegetation burning by some unknown locals under the line corridor of tower no. 211-212, which falls under Nongthymme Village.

“Such kind of activities under the line corridor and within the tower base areas leads to failure of the Power Transmission System leading to the server power failure in the region and in the State as a whole.

“Considering the concern of both the safety of the Transmission Line as well as the safety of life and property, all Villagers are to be alert and aware about the severity of such kinds of activities and to avoid continuing the same. Legal action will be initiated against such persons.”
