SHILLONG, May 11: Shillong Lajong FC took a small step towards requalifying for the I-League by playing out a 0-0 draw against Delhi FC in their final round match of the All India Football Federation’s Second Division League in Chandigarh today.
The other fixture today saw Ambernath United, who were playing their first game of the final round, edge FC Bengaluru United 1-0 in Mumbai.
Lajong coach Bobby Lyngdoh Nongbet retained the exact same starting line-up from the win against United.
The point on the road means that Lajong now have 4 and maintain their lead in the final round.
Only the top two clubs after the single leg round robin action is complete will gain promotion to next season’s I-League. Lajong next take on Ambernath United on Tuesday at 4 PM.
