State govt effects bureaucratic rejig

SHILLONG, May 11: The state government on Thursday announced a bureaucratic reshuffle, following which Commissioner and Secretary in-charge of Planning, General Administration departments, Dr. Joram Beda, will now function as Additional Development Commissioner with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders. Dr. Beda is, however, relieved of his functions as Member Secretary of State Council of Science Technology & Environment (SCSTE) and as Member Secretary of Bio Resources Development Centre (BRDC).

Following the rejig, Secretary to the Health and Family Welfare department, Ram Kumar, will now also function as Executive Director of Meghalaya State Skills Development Society (MSSDS) with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders.

Joint Secretary to the Cooperation department, WAM Booth, shall also function as Joint Secretary to the Urban Affairs department and as Director of Meghalayan Age Limited (MAL) with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders.

Joint Secretary to the Planning department, Gunanka DB, shall also function as Member Secretary to State Council of Science Technology & Environment and as Member Secretary to Bio Resources Development Centre (BRDC) with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders.

Fisheries department Director, Aitinolin L. Mawlong, on the other hand, has been relieved of her functions as Joint Secretary to the Cooperation Department with effect from the date of handing over charge.

Information & Public Relations Director, Malthus S. Sangma, will also function as Joint Secretary to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders.
