City schools shine in CBSE exams

SHILLONG, May 12: Army Public School (APS) Shillong and BK Bajoria School have once again excelled in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations for classes 10 and 12, the results of which were declared on Friday.
According to a statement here, a total of 141 students from APS Shillong had appeared for the Class 12 examination, out of which 33 students scored 90 per cent and above marks in aggregate. Similarly, in Class 10, a total of 14 students out of 80 scored 90 per cent and above marks in aggregate.
“In Class X, Anu Fejo topped the school by scoring 96% marks in aggregate, while Samaira Mishra secured second position with 95.6% marks in aggregate and Parthivi Singh secured third position with 95% marks in aggregate,” the statement said.
Similarly, from Humanities stream, Aditi Warrier topped the school by scoring an aggregate of 97.4% marks. “Kripannita Purkayastha secured second position in Humanities by scoring 96.2% marks in aggregate and Noknamchi Nengminza Sangma secured third position in Humanities with 95.6% marks in aggregate,” the statement said. On the other hand, in Science department, Austin Joel Dympep topped by scoring 97.2% marks in aggregate. “Bhoomika Amarnani secured second position with 97% marks in aggregate and Nathan Marshall Dkhar secured third position with 96.8% marks in aggregate,” the statement said.
In Commerce stream, Debanjan Datta topped the school by scoring 93.4% marks in aggregate. On the other hand, Anjali Kumari secured second position while Gilbert Paoliansiam secured third position with 93% marks and 92.6% marks respectively.
Meanwhile, BK Bajoria School alsoexcelled in the CBSE examinations this year, with Manav Deb of Class X topping with 96.2% with distinctions in all subjects.
“Toppers of the three streams for Class XII include Deimaya Lyngdoh Marshilong who topped the Science stream with 92% and distinctions in all subjects, Radhika Dalal who secured 93% and topped in the Commerce Stream with distinctions in all subjects and SaphiBakordor P Swer who secured 91.4% and topped in the Arts Stream with distinctions in all subjects,” the statement said.
Dhiraj Kshetrimayum, on the other hand, secured 100% in Science and Sushmita Jha secured 100% in Social Science.
