College students get exposure from IBSD visit

SHILLONG, May 15: Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Node Meghalaya, welcomed students of St. Anthony’s College along with their teachers for an exposure visit to the institute.
Students were acquainted to different activities of the institute, research laboratories, scientific instruments, herbarium, available local bioresources, particularly medicinal plants and phyto-pharmaceutical extraction processes.
The activities of sensitisation of young mind of students was supported the Director of IBSD, Prof Pulok K Mukherjee to promote awareness on Science and Technology and their sustainable utilisation towards development of local bioresources.
It may be mentioned that IBSD is organising such activities to inculcate scientific temperament among students, gain exposure to research environment and motivate them to pursue research in various field of life sciences and awareness about local bioresources.
