Unclaimed body
Ri-Bhoi Superintendent of Police has informed that on May 14, at 11:30 am, a decomposed body of an unknown male was recovered from at Umrabit stream, Byrnihat. Subsequently, all legal formalities were completed and the body was shifted to the Nongpoh Civil Hospital morgue. According to police, the body is approximately four-foot tall and is 15-20 years old. Programme
Meghalaya State Judicial Academy will organise a sensitisation programme on the topic ‘Gender Justice and the Indian Legal System’ and ‘Issues of Gender disparity in the Matrilineal System in Meghalaya’ from 10 am on Saturday at the conference hall of the High Court of Meghalaya.

East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner has informed that four awards, each carrying a sum of Rs. 10 lakh, a citation and a memento in the fields of non-violence and vegetarianism, education, medicine, community and social service have been instituted by Bhagan Mahaveer Foundation. “The aim of the Foundation is to identify, nurture, encourage and honour individuals and institutions who are engaged in providing selfless service to the society and also encourage others to follow suit,” a statement in this regard said.
Workshop
The first-ever aerial dance workshop in Shillong, organised by Gitanjali Dance Academy, got under way at the Gitanjali Dance Studio in Bishnupur on Wednesday. The workshop, which will continue till May 23, is open to all skill levels, from beginners to experienced dancers.
