SHILLONG, May 17: Commissioner and Secretary, Planning, Investment Promotion and Sustainable Development department, Joram Beda, highlighted advantages of investing in Meghalaya during a roundtable for the North East Global Investors Summit at the State Convention Centre here on Wednesday.
Giving a presentation on investment opportunities in Meghalaya, Beda said that the state has made several reforms on the ease of doing business. The Single Window System (SWS) is one such initiative which creates a business environment with focus sectors in tourism, agriculture and food processing, sports, health, education, handloom, handicrafts & textile, and IT/ITES sectors.
Joint Secretary, DoNER, Harpreet Singh, briefed the conference on the potential of the Northeastern states to attract investors in various focus sectors. He expressed confidence that the investors will continue to engage with the government and DoNER by providing opportunities to potential investors to invest according to their sectors apart from the given sectors.
