Motorist dies in Ri-Bhoi accident

NONGPOH, May 18: A young motorist from Assam was killed on Wednesday night following an accident on National Highway 6, near the NRL Petrol Pump in Shangbangla, Ri-Bhoi district.
The incident occurred at approximately 9 pm amidst heavy rainfall, which resulted in the motorbike skidding and the rider suffering severe injuries.
The 24-year-old victim, who has been identified as Bishal Borah, a resident of Kahilipara in Guwahati, was returning home when the accident occurred due to the slippery road conditions caused by the rain.
Sources informed that following the accident Borah was rushed to the Nongpoh Civil Hospital for treatment.
However, the attending doctor declared Borah dead upon arrival.
Meanwhile, a case has also been registered in this regard.
