SHILLONG, May 22: The Justice (retd) T. Vaiphei-led Judicial Inquiry Commission probing the Mukroh firing incident on November 22 last year will convene its next sitting on May 25 to examine witnesses.
Depending on the number of witnesses being produced by the DGP of Assam, the proceedings may continue on May 26-27.
During the last hearing, the Secretary to the Commission had spoken with the counsels for Assam and Meghalaya as well as Mukroh villagers to fix May 16 for taking further evidence but due to their unavailability, the date was deferred.
