SHILLONG, June 2: Unknown miscreants on Thursday night reportedly set ablaze a two-wheeler in Mawprem area.
It is said that the incident occurred at around 1 am.
When contacted, police said that the fire was doused on time, leaving the seat of the two-wheeler burnt. “The matter is being enquired,” police added.
It may be mentioned that this is not the first incident in the area as only recently, several two-wheelers parked on the roadside in Mawprem were vandalised by miscreants. Similarly, only a week ago, a bike parked on the roadside in Jhalupara also caught fire, and police are investigating whether it was done by miscreants in mischief or if there were other reasons behind the incident.
