State may switch over to CBSE next academic year

SHILLONG, June 3: If all goes as per the plans of the state government, Meghalaya would introduce the CBSE course pattern at the higher secondary level by next year.
The state Meghalaya is contemplating to adopt the CBSE pattern and implement the same by next academic session.
Informing this here, Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma said that the matter is under process and it will be completed by next academic session.
Pointing out that the government has almost adopted the pattern of CBSE in subjects like Maths and Science, the minister said that it intends to adopt the relevant portions of CBSE for which, he said, necessary consultations are taking place.
“There should not be any wrong message .We are adopting the CBSE pattern to bring up the standard of education with the rest of the country,” he said.
