JOWAI, June 9: A body of a 44-year-old woman has been exhumed and a case has been registered after a duo said that she might have been murdered.
P. Samaiang and Ribiang Langstang had appeared at the Phramer Traffic Cell of West Jaintia Hills to lodge a complaint, stating that they suspect one Roibiang Pakma of murdering their sister, Rodit Langstang, a resident of Pamanik village under Laskein C&RD Block, WJH.
They said Pakma, who is husband of Rodit, had been absconding since the day they found her body at her residence on June 1.
The duo, believing that the body had been lying there for the past few days, conducted the burial on the same day.
However, once they started smelling a rat, the duo moved the authorities, seeking a probe into the matter.
