Group to picket GHADC office

TURA, June 13: A Garo Hills-based NGO, Niksamsao Garo Community Organization (NGCO), will picket the office of the GHADC over several grievances concerning the people of the region.
As per latest reports, GHADC staff have been without salaries for over 28 months. It will flag issues like the pending demands over the formulation of Garo Customary Law (GCL), the creation of a separate electoral roll as well the implementation of finance and service rules.
“These have been long-pending demands of all of us and we want the GHADC to take these up very seriously,” informed the NGO.
The picket is expected to affect work in the GHADC office in Tura.
