Interactive events for WKH schools

NONGSTOIN, June 13: In a bid to provide interaction and engagement for students, the office of the District School Education Officer, West Khasi Hills, in collaboration with the office of the District Mission Coordinator, SSA, West Khasi Hills on Tuesday organised ‘Janbhagidari’ events programme on ‘Ensuring Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Especially In Blended Learning’ at Vanni Hall, St. Peter’s Higher Secondary School, Pyndengrei, Nongstoin.
The day’s ‘Jan Bhagidari’ or people’s participation activities included recitation and Teaching Learning Materials Competition. In the Khasi category of recitation competition, Balamkupar Marthong of Langja Govt LP School won the first prize, Toaikanri Hoojon of Run Thabah Memorial LP School, Pariong won the second prize and Santulabon Khardeingngan of Rev S Wollington Memorial LP School won the third prize. Winners in the English category were Mebantei Lyngdoh Peinlang of Wisdom LP School, Pariong (1st prize), Rishwaiaka Jyrwa of Little Star English Medium Secondary School, Nongbah Bynther (2nd prize) and Seraphinia Marngar of St. Joseph Secondary School and Risabiangpor Syiemlieh from Mairang Vidya Jyoti Inclusive School (joint 3rd prize).
In the Teaching Learning Materials Competition, Mairang Vidya Jyoti Inclusive School won the first prize followed by Little Star English Medium Secondary School Nongbah Bynther and Byrki Govt LP School, which bagged the second and third prizes respectively.
