Shillong, June 15: The Voice of the People Party (VPP) has asked the State government to maintain proper records of refugees from Manipur in the State and ensure that they return once peace and normalcy is restored.

In a letter to the Home Minister, VPP, General Secretary, Ricky AJ Syngkon wrote, ” I on behalf of the party would like to express our deep appreciation towards the quick and warm gestures shown by the government in rendering all kind of humanitarian support to our fellow beings from Manipur who have turned into refugees by the recent communal violence”.

” However, we request the government to maintain proper records of all the refugees coming from Manipur to our State and ensure that they return to their State once peace and tranquility is restored and not to make our State their permanent residence,” he added.
