Last year, in October, the seers had raised concerns about the alleged distortion observed in the film’s trailer. They argued that the characters from the Ramayana were misrepresented and Hindu deities were depicted in a distorted manner. Specifically, they pointed out that Hanuman was portrayed with a beard but without a mustache.
Acharya Satyendra Das, the head priest of Ram Janmabhoomi, criticized the filmmakers for persistently misrepresenting the characters from the Ramayana and depicting Hindu deities in a distorted way. He expressed his strong disapproval of the film’s dialogues, deeming them shameful, and called for an immediate ban on the movie.
According to Das, “Lord Ram, Lord Hanuman, as well as Ravana, have been presented in a completely different manner. It portrays our deities in a form that contradicts what we have learned and known so far.”
Raju Das, the priest of Hanuman Garhi temple, echoed the demand for a ban on the movie and criticized Bollywood for its alleged disregard for Hindu sentiments. He stated, “Bollywood is hell-bent on distorting Hindu religion. The movie ‘Adipurush’ is a classic example of how it shows the least concern for Hindu sentiments.”
Support for the ban on the film has also been extended by the Mani Ram Das Chhavni Peeth, a powerful organization representing Ayodhya saints. Their backing further strengthens the demand to prohibit the release of the movie.
