Bike collision leaves one dead, 2 injured in WGH

TURA, June 19: A head-on collision between two motorbikes coming from opposite directions near Garobadha on Monday, left one person dead while two others were grievously injured.
The deceased has been identified as Dechrang T Sangma (23), son of Karben A Sangma, resident of Dengnakpara PO&PS Damalgre.
According to police, the incident took place at 1 pm on the Chimesenggre bridge near Garobadha, when the victim’s two-wheeler (ML 14 8862), coming from the Garobadha side, collided with the other bike (AS 02 G 0343), which was travelling in the opposite direction.
Soon after the incident, an ambulance was informed which reached the site and declared the victim spot dead. The body of the victim has since been shifted to the morgue at Ampati DM&HO.
The two grievously injured persons have been identified as Jahangir (25), resident of Uttar Samarali PO, Kapash Bari PS Sukchar, South Salmara, Assam, and pillion rider Minarul Islam (26) from Sukchar district, Dhubri, Assam. Both the injured have been shifted to Tura Civil Hospital for further medical examination and treatment.
