JOWAI, June 20: The JHADC passed the the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District (Village and Town Development Council) Bill, 2023, during a special session of the Council on Tuesday.
The Bill, which was introduced on the very day, was passed after deliberation.
The objective of the Bill is to make provisions to constitute village and town development council to facilitate direct funding to Dorbar Shnongs. These councils will be responsible for planning and implementing developmental activities within the village and town in Jaintia Hills.
