SHILLONG, June 21: VPP MLA from North Shillong, Adelbert Nongrum, has said the load-shedding, imposed after midnight, has allowed miscreants to take advantage of the darkness.
In a statement here on Wednesday, Nongrum said that the number of burglary and theft cases is on the rise in different localities.
“My question is whether the government is taking note of this,” the VPP MLA said.
He suggested the state government to lift the load-shedding during the night hours, stating that it has become unsafe for the citizens.
“I am sure that the power scenario will improve, especially with the incessant rainfall which we are experiencing in the past few days,” the VPP MLA added.
