NCW member flags impact single mother on child’s upbrining

Shillong, June 23:  National Commission for Women (NCW) member, Delina Khongdup has stressed about the need to understand the impact of single mother on the upbringing of the child.

While delivering her address during the inaugural function of the one-day seminar on the socio economic status of the single mothers here on Friday, Delina said that it had been witnessed that children of a single parents always suffered from depression, stressed and even are addicted to substance abused.

Others speakers included Meghalaya State Commission for Women chairperson, Phidalia Toi and Associate Professor of IIPH, Dr Melari Nongrum who delivered the keynote address.

It may be mentioned the seminar was organised by Meghalaya State Commission for Women and NCW.
