SHILLONG, June 25: Soon after the NPP charged the VPP with propagating ‘politics of hate’, the VPP has dared the NPP to walk the talk and come up with any statement made by the regional party which is an indication of incitement against any community.
If the NPP fails to do so, the VPP has put a condition that the Conrad Sangma-led party should offer unconditionally apology.
“Those who say that we play hate politics should prove it. Let them find any statement where there is any indication of incitement against any community failing which they should offer unconditionally apology to the people of the state for spreading a political lie,” said VPP spokesperson Batskhem Myrboh on Sunday.
“Such a lie is an attempt to stall any attempt to bring in clean and responsible politics in the state,” the VPP spokesperson added.
It may be recalled that National People’s Youth Front (NPYF) spokesperson, Bajop Pyngrope had recently said that the “politics of hate” and the “dictatorial attitude” of the VPP will not sustain for long.
Reacting to the statement, Myrboh said, “The allegation is completely rubbish and is made by someone who has been exposed for his involvement in abuse of public fund through his unethical and anti-public appointment”.
“In fact, we are happy that such an immoral politician has been responded by the public themselves,” he added.
He said that the party or parties which label VPP as a communal party are the ones who will be irrelevant in the coming days as political consciousness among the people becomes better. “By all means they have to spread lies to stay relevant but the people of the state will definitely teach them a hard lesson to learn,” he added.
