SHILLONG, June 27: After a youth reported a job scam, the Director of Employment and Craftsmen Training, Shillong, has alerted all youths of the state looking for employment not to respond to any email with job offers without first ascertaining the genuineness of the employer.
The advisory comes against the backdrop of a youth being scammed on the pretext of a job through National Career Service. According to a statement, an e-mail was sent to the candidate with a job offer requesting the candidate to accept a kit containing the job offer letter/joining letter. However, on payment of Rs 1000, the kit was found to contain nothing as mentioned.
