SHILLONG, June 29: Citizens of the state have got some temporary relief with the MeECL reducing the duration of the power cuts by a few hours since Tuesday.
An official from the Power Department said the supply has improved but it is still not enough for load-shedding to be done away with. He said the respite may continue depending on the rainfall.
On Thursday, the Umiam water level had improved to 3190.76 feet but it is still inadequate for uninterrupted power generation.
