SHILLONG, June 30: The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS) at Meghalaya Secretariat, Shillong, for promoting entrepreneurship in the rural areas of Meghalaya through implementation of the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) and promotion of both artisan and sectoral cluster.
According to a statement here, Dr. Lalit Sharma, Director IIE and R. Chitturi, CEO, MSRLS, signed the MoU in the presence of Dr. Santanu Mohan Deka, Associate Faculty Member, IIE, Shanlang Lyngdoh, Chief Operating Officer, Livelihoods Promotion, Rinky Kyndait, SMM — Non Farm, Dr. Harajyoti Mazumdar, Lead-project, IIE and AibanKhrawKuparKharnarry, Project Executive, IIE.
“Under the agreement, IIE, as a National Resource Organisation of the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP), the sub-scheme of the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NLRM), with the core objective of promoting employment opportunities in rural India, will particularly develop self-employment avenues for unemployed rural youths in the state of Meghalaya,” the statement said.
