SHILLONG, July 6: A day after the state government said that none of the political parties have submitted their suggestions and recommendations to the Ampareen Lyngdoh-headed committee on the roster and reservation policy, the State BJP said the party’s internal committee has already compiled the views and suggestions from the leaders and workers which will be submitted to the government shortly, senior BJP leader AL Hek said on Thursday.
Asked about the opinion of the party on the reservation policy, he said that the BJP’s stand remains the same that reservation should be based on the roster system.
The party’s internal committee is headed by former MLA, HM Shangpliang and includes Ferlin CA Sangma, party spokesperson M Kharkrang and general secretary Lakhon Biam, besides advocate SP Mahanta. Hek, Sanbor Shullai and party president Ernest Mawrie are also part of the committee.
