Manuel Ugarte
Paris St Germain have signed Uruguay international Manuel Ugarte from Sporting Lisbon for 60 million euros ($65.32 million), with the defensive midfielder signing a five-year contract, the two clubs said on Friday.A prodigy who made his first-team debut for hometown club CA Fenix at the age of 15, Ugarte moved to Portugal to play for Famalicao before being snapped up by Sporting.The 22-year-old was called up for the World Cup in Qatar last year and has eight caps for Uruguay.
Davide Frattesi
Inter Milan have signed midfielder Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo on loan with an obligation to buy, the Serie A clubs said on Thursday.Italian media reported that the 23-year-old will join on a one-year loan deal with an obligation to buy starting from February 2024. The contract is expected to run until 2028.Frattesi has been capped six times for Italy, having made his debut in 2022.He is Inter’s fourth close-season signing.
Cesar Azpilicueta
Veteran defender Cesar Azpilicueta joined Atletico Madrid on Thursday after 11 seasons with Chelsea.The 33-year-old Spaniard signed a one-year contract with Atletico. He left Chelsea earlier Thursday after making 508 appearances for the English club. He arrived at Chelsea in 2012 for just £7 million as Branislav Ivanovic’s backup, but his breakthrough came in 2013 as a left-back. Azpi has played as a right-back, a right wing-back, and a centre-back in a three-man defence for the Blues.
Andre Onana
Manchester United remain in dialogue with Inter Milan as they work to find a compromise over the fee for Andre Onana, which could be in the region of £45m (€52.5m) inclusive of add-ons.The Serie A side’s total valuation for their goalkeeper is £51m (€60m) and their public stance is he will remain at the club unless that figure is met. There is optimism, however, United can find a compromise with a willingness from all parties to get a deal done.
