Power min wants to see report of decade-old panel

By Our Reporter SHILLONG, July 8: Amid the struggles of power generation in the state, Power Minister AT Mondol has given the green signal to UDP general secretary Jemino Mawthoh to submit the report of a fact finding team from 2013-2018 formed to counter the power crisis in the state during that period. This was informed by the UDP leader, who said, “I had spoken with the Power minister and informed him about the fact finding team and the report that we had submitted when I was MLA. I was chairman of the team comprising six political parties. We had visited Leshka, Umtrew, Umiam Stage I-II. I had compiled the report and submitted to the government.” According to the UDP general secretary, the power minister, on being told about the committee, acknowledged it and asked for its findings. “…he (Power minister) said that our findings are very true. Big question now is the implementation part. I will be meeting the Power minister and submitting the report again,” the UDP general secretary added.
