PM Modi to strengthen India-France ties in defence and space

Shillong, July 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to Paris will focus on bolstering the relationship between India and France in various domains, particularly defence and space. PM Modi expressed his intention to engage in comprehensive discussions with the French President to advance the longstanding and enduring partnership between the two countries.

The visit holds significance as it coincides with the 25th anniversary of the strategic partnership between India and France. PM Modi emphasized the deep trust and commitment that underpin the collaboration across multiple sectors, including defence, space, civil nuclear, blue economy, trade, investment, education, culture, and people-to-people ties. Both nations also collaborate on regional and global issues.

NDTV reported, PM Modi eagerly anticipates meeting President Macron to discuss the way forward for this enduring partnership over the next 25 years. As a guest of honor at the annual Bastille Day Parade, PM Modi will witness a 269-member Indian tri-services contingent participating in the parade. The Indian Air Force (IAF) will contribute three Rafale fighter jets to the flypast, alongside their French counterparts, marking a significant moment of cooperation between the two nations.
