NONGSTOIN, July 13: The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) Mawshynrut Circle has demanded appointment of a full-fledged Sub Divisional Officer for Mawshynrut.
In this regard, the HYC met West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Garod LSN Dykes on Thursday.
In a statement, president of HYC Mawshynrut Circle, Losbingwel Lyngkhoi, pointed out that no developmental works have been taken up since the inception of the Civil Sub-Division in 2017.
The Sub-Division has been plagued by lack of proper infrastructure, health facilities, education, water, electricity et al.
Stating that work is monitored from Nongstoin, he questioned the purpose of the Mawshynrut Civil Sub-Division.
Lyngkhoi also pointed out that the Civil Sub-Division lacks a dedicated building and currently functions from a rented house near Riangdo market.
