Demolition of illegal coke plants to resume in EJH

SHILLONG, July 17: The East Jaintia Hills district administration will resume the exercise of demolishing illegal coke plants in the coal-rich district on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner, Abhilash Baranwal on Monday said the administration has demolished the chimneys of three illegal plants and the exercise will resume from Tuesday to demolish as many as 34 illegal units.
So far, the district administration has demolished the chimneys of Halari Coke Plant, Druk Fuels Limited and Shauryansi Coke, all located in Sutnga Elaka.
