MAWKYRWAT, July 18: Miscreants broke into the office of the KHADC at Pyndenspar, Laitlawsang, two kilometres from Mawkyrwat in South West Khasi Hills. Police, however, have said that no items whatsoever were stolen.
After discovering this on Tuesday, Superintendent of Taxes, In-charge KHADC Mawkyrwat Branch, Shandor Tiewsoh, said that it was unsure as to when the incident occurred as the office was closed since Saturday.
According to the office staff, the miscreants broke open the hook of the door on the second floor and entered the building.
The unidentified persons then entered the room of the Superintendent of Professional Tax.
Reportedly, the drawers were opened and office papers were scattered on the ground.
The office of the KHADC Mawkyrwat Branch on Tuesday lodged an FIR with the Mawkyrwat Police Station.
