NONGPOH, July 21: In what may be described as a fascinating event, residents of Ri Bhoi district — particularly those from Nongpoh area, Umden, and neighbouring regions — claimed to have witnessed an enigmatic cosmic spectacle on Friday evening.
Several witnesses reported seeing two unidentified flying objects (UFOs) gliding through the night sky, closely following each other in a mesmerising display of aerial acrobatics.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the strange lights emitted by these unknown objects danced in the sky, tracing circles and intricate patterns. However, despite the awe-inspiring nature of the sighting, it appears that no videos were captured on mobile phones which could buttress their claim.
The eyewitnesses reasoned that the high velocity of the ethereal objects deterred the witnesses from document the incredible incident.
According to the locals the UFOs were moving at an incredibly high speed, leaving little time for observers to react or record the event adequately.
The objects remained visible for only a fleeting moment, making it challenging for anyone to ascertain their true nature or origin.
As news of the sighting spread like wildfire throughout the district, speculation among the locals was rife. While some individuals in Nongpoh firmly believed that they had encountered celestial beings, others were convinced that these mysterious aerial phenomena were indeed UFOs from the outer space.
Until conclusive evidence emerges, the spectacle witnessed over the Ri-Bhoi night sky remains shrouded in mystery, leaving both residents and researchers alike intrigued by the unexplained phenomena in the sky.
As the news of this rare sighting continues to reverberate, discussions are likely to be fuelled by curiosity and the desire to uncover the truth behind these “elusive aliens”.
