KSU, locals foil abduction bid in Khanduli

Shillong, July 21: Two children were saved by the KSU members and the villagers from the clutches of the alleged kidnappers in Khanduli area, West Jaintia Hills on Saturday.
It was informed that the children were herding their cattle when the miscreants tried to lure and kidnap them. The KSU were holding a meeting at Khanduli when the incident happened. The union claimed that the kidnappers are suspected to be Karbis.
According to KSU, the suspected Karbi had attempted to kidnap the two children with the intention to disrupt the meeting of the union to discuss on the prevailing situation in the inter-state boundaries with Assam.
‘The people who attended the meeting shouted after seeing suspected Karbi trying to abduct the two kids’.
The villagers along with the police and the KSU members tried to chase the kidnappers but they manage to escape.
The two kids were brought home safely along with their cattle.
