Curbs on env destruction in Raliang Elaka

JOWAI July 25: Dorbar of Raliang Elaka has notified certain restrictions such as indiscriminate burning of the forests to protect essential medicinal herbs from going extinct.
This transpired during a drive for the preservation of the environment in Raliang Elaka on Monday. The Doloi, C Lyngdoh chaired the programme.
Further, the Dorbar Elaka decided that poaching of wild animals will be prohibited. In this regard, the Elaka has decided to extend its cooperation to the Forest department to thwart any illegality.
The Dorbar has also prohibited legislators or candidates from entering the interior of the Elaka in a maximum of four light vehicles except during election rallies. It has also restricted candidates from offering snacks or drinks to the residents of the Elaka.
