The Meghalya Powerlifting and Fitness Association will organise the ‘First Ever State Classic Powerlifing Competition’ at Umsning on September 9. The events will comprise Bench Press, Deadlift and Squat, and the competitors will be judged for national competition to be held in Begaluru in October and Federation Cup 2023.
Clarification
VPP MLA from Mawryngkneng, Heavingstone Kharpran has clarified that he is not being sidelined by the party leadership, which was mentioned in a news item which appeared in The Shillong Times recently with his name as one of the party leaders who was sidelined. “I do hereby clarify that it is not true and I’m always with the party and its leaders,” he said.
Missing
One Mision Suting (61) has been reported as missing since July 16 by her son Robert Suting of Nongthymmai Pynursla. She was on her way to take bath at a spring near her house at Umden, Umbathiang, Ri-Bhoi, the police said. A joint search operation was conducted by the police and villagers but in vain. She was last seen wearing a black frock and a green Jainkyrshah.
