JOWAI, July 26: The Waheh Shnong of different villages of East Jaintia Hills along with the KSU Narpuh Circle has asked the NHAI to repair the dilapidated stretch of the NH-6 from Mynkre to Malidor within seven days and threatened to take coercive action including shutting down the toll gate, closing down the highway and filing FIR against NHAI.
“The deplorable condition of the NH-6 from Mynkre to Malidor is known to the government and NHAI. In spite of the intervention of the High Court of Meghalaya, NHAI has failed to repair and maintain the said road, despite earning crores of rupees through its toll gate. Commuting along this route has become very difficult especially for light motor vehicles,” they said.
