Inauguration of ‘Samagam’ live-streamed at Raj Bhavan

Shillong, July 29: The inauguration of the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan in New Delhi was streamed live at Raj Bhavan here, on Saturday.
The Samagam coincides with the third anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The live streaming of the event here was organised by the Department of Education, Government of Meghalaya where Governor, Phagu Chauhan witnessed the proceedings in the presence of Education Minister, Rakkam A Sangma, Advisor to the Education Department, H M Shangpliang, senior officials of the state government, armed forces and school students, a statement issued here said.
As part of the event, the governor inspected an exhibition on the National Education Policy 2020 showcasing the works of schools students and Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT).
The two-day event organised by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship aims to provide a platform for academics, sector experts, policy makers, industry representatives, teachers and students from schools, higher education and skilling institutions, among others, to share their insights, success stories and best practices in implementing the NEP 2020 and work out strategies for taking it further ahead, the statement stated.
NEHU vice-chancellor, Prabha Shankar Shukla along with the faculty members and students of the university attended the ceremony at New Delhi.
It may be mentioned that the university has already implemented the NEP 2020 for the post graduate students’ from the academic session 2022-23.
While, for the under graduate the university has already circulated the letters to all the affiliated colleges of NEHU to implement the NEP from the upcoming academic session starting from August 1, 2023.
