Shillong, July 30: A small plane crash in the west of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, resulted in the loss of six lives, according to media reports.
The ill-fated aircraft departed from Springbank Airport at approximately 8:45 p.m. (0145 GMT Saturday) en route to Salmon Arm, British Columbia. Tragically, the plane disappeared around 30 minutes after takeoff, as confirmed by the local police.
As per IANS, on Saturday at 7.30 am (1230 GMT), search teams located the wreckage in a mountainous region, situated approximately 100 km west of Calgary. Xinhua news agency reported that all six bodies were successfully recovered from the crash site.
As per the police statement, the aircraft carried five passengers and one pilot at the time of the accident.
The authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of the deceased. Additionally, the cause of the tragic crash remains unknown, pending further investigation.
