Minor girl’s body found in West Garo Hills

TURA, Aug 3: The body of a minor girl, aged about 12-13 years, was recovered by West Garo Hills Police on August 1 from Jangrapara under Phulbari police station in the same district.
Police said inquest and a post-mortem examination were carried out and a case under the POCSO Act has been registered.
West Garo Hills Superintendent of Police Vivekananda Singh Rathore said, “Investigation is on. No arrest has been made yet. There are strong clues about the suspect involved in this heinous offence.”
The district police has urged citizens to refrain from spreading rumour or speculation on social media and to share any available information on the crime to the police control room.
